I spent time with little humans in the Yukon forest – dancing with them, telling a story to them, most importantly discussing with them why inclusion, equality, diversity and respecting others are the call of the present time.
Kids also shared their powerful thoughts. These types of positive-dance interactions which include giving kids opportunities to learn about diversity, inclusion and equality at such an early stage of life are essential to building a healthy society for future generations.
Then, as adults, they will be better prepared to be respectful and open about other cultures, various skin-colours, different genders, and diverse backgrounds. To learn about others and to build cross-cultural bridges are not just important; education about these subjects are now the urgency of the current time to end racism, discrimination, marginalization, and violence.
Thanks, Rivers to Ridges, for running a great forest school in the Yukon!
